Very pleased with the external repair and refurbishment work Aegle Properties did on my London townhouse, on time and on budget! Thanks again.

We had the pleasure of renovating and refurbishing this 1850’s stucco fronted townhouse in Belsize Park. Almost every area of the townhouse needed some kind of repair. Here’s what we did to bring the townhouse back to life:

External works

Scaffolding

  • Erect tubular scaffolding on the front, side and rear of the property. The scaffolding will be partly boarded and/or netted.
  • The scaffolding will be secured (Hilti ties) and will have access ladders.

Exterior Walls

  • Fill in cracks and holes, sand down where necessary apply two coats of smooth or textured masonry paint to rendered or concrete walls.
  • Apply masonry sealer.
  • Remove damp effects on the exterior walls.
  • Will install coping stones to protect the walls from damp.
  • Rendering on all areas where the plaster has damaged or removed with mix of waterproof render mix.

Windows

  • Rub down, prepare and apply one coat of primer/undercoat and two coats of gloss paint on surfaces of wooden windows.
  • Fill in cracks and holes on the wooden frames using waterproof wood filler. Apply waterproof sealant on top of the wood filler for further protection from water ingress.

Railings

  • Apply one coat primer on metal railings and gates.
  • Apply two coats of metalshield paint on railings or gates.

Front entrance door

  • Rub down, prepare for and apply one coat of primer/undercoat and two coats of gloss paint.
  • Repair brick work and cracks.

Guttering

  • Clean out guttering, remove waste and debris.
  • Test guttering to ensure smooth flow of water.

Garden door

  • Rub down, prepare for and apply one coat of primer/undercoat and two coats of gloss paint.

Downpipes

  • Prepare for one undercoat and two coats of gloss paint to external pipework.
  • Wash and clean exterior of the uPVC downpipe.

Internal works

  • Prepare for painting and apply two coats of wood stain.

Banisters

  • Apply one coat of primer/undercoat, two coats of gloss metal paint.
